Ocean Park Hong Kong reveals new projects ahead of 50th anniversary

Ocean Park Hong Kong has unveiled plans for two new animal exhibits, a third giant panda habitat and a marine mammal conservation centre, as part of its 50th anniversary celebrations in 2027. The marine mammal conservation centre is due to open next January, while the panda habitat is slated for completion in the third quarter of 2027.

Visitors will get the chance to observe giant panda routine medical care training carried out by the team, gaining deeper insight into animal welfare and behind-the-scenes work in this new exhibit.

"Ocean Park has been an integral part of Hong Kong for half a century, bearing witness to our city’s charm, resilience, and the transformation and growth of generations," said Paulo Pong, chairman of the board at Ocean Park Corporation. "We will deepen and expand Ocean Park’s role as a top international conservation and education hub, fully supporting Hong Kong in amplifying its global influence in ecological conservation and education," he added.
