Huan Huan & Yuan Zi arrived @ ZooParc de Beauval
The FedEx Panda Express Chengdu – Paris arrived at the FedEx Hub of CDG Roissy Airport with Huan Huan & Yuan Zi on January 15, 2012.
The first person who came from the Panda Express was ZooParc de Beauval’s Director Rodolphe Delord who joined the pandas on their journey.
A great ceremony was held and the chinese staff came from the airplane, veterinarian Liu Li & keeper Zhang Hao.
But everybody was waiting for this door to go open…
The female, Huan Huan was the first panda to set foot in France.
Followed by Yuan Zi, the male.
Huan Huan & Yuan Zi received a little medical check and were ready to go to their next transportation: the pandas were loaded into a FedEx Truck to bring them to Saint-Aignan.
The ‘Gendarmes’ guided the Panda Express convoi with the pandas and their staff.
In the middle of the 3 hour drive, the truck stopped and Huan Huan & Yuan Zi were checked and received an apple.
The pandas were welcomed by the people of Saint-Aignan, I think almost everybody was standing on the streets!
Even more people were standing at the zoo entrance when the pandas arrived safe at the ZooParc de Beauval.
Huan Huan & Yuan Zi arrived at ‘Sur les hauteurs de Chine’ and stayed in their night houses.
Delphine Delord opened the press conference with Maurice Leroy, Ministre de la Ville / Président du Conseil Général de Loir-et-Cher, Patrice Martin-Lalande, Député de Loir-et-Cher & Zhu Liying, representative of the ambassador of China.
ZooParc de Beauval’s Founder and President Françoise Delord told us how happy she is that her dream, the dream of her family & her team came true: a pair of giant pandas arrived @ Beauval!
