Pambassador @ Zoo Madrid – January 24, 2011
January 24, 2011 was again my last day in Madrid. It was still cold but I’ll always get it warm when I see some pandas! Bing Xing was the first one today. He was walking outside but he soon came inside. His keepers have placed some pieces of apple in front of the window. Bing Xing likes his treats!
The first cub to receive his check-up was De De. You can see how Chen Xian is catching him just like his mother would do this. De De weighs 7,9 kg. See how he looks into Chen Xian’s eyes while she is weighing him!
Here we can see Po nursing. It looks like he’s enjoying Hua Zuiba’s milk.
When he’s finished it is time to do Po’s check-up. Today Deng Tao & Chen Xian will try to move Hua Zuiba to another room so they can catch her cub. She moved to eat some biscuits, but it is not easy to make sure that the cub doesn’t follow her…
Po didn’t want to be weighed. But after some time, Chen Xian managed to keep him still. Po weighs 7,8 kg.

Hua Zuiba was eating, walking around, playing… just being a normal panda…
On Thursday February 3, 2011 it is Chinese New Year. In China, Spring Festival is as important as Christmas to the west. Deng Tao & Chen Xian will celebrate Spring Festival this year not together with their family but with Zoo Madrid’s pandas. Po & De De wish you all the best for the New Year!
