Kai Kai & Jia Jia, Singapore’s future panda couple, could arrive this September, up to six months later than the originally planned date.
But there is ‘no rush’, as long as they arrive at their new home at the upcoming River Safari in Mandai at least three months before their public debut.
This is slated to occur by year-end when the entire River Safari opens.
This is according to Ms Claire Chiang, chairman of Wildlife Reserves Singapore (WRS), parent company of the river-themed animal attraction and the Singapore Zoo. She said the later date was ‘mutually agreed’ upon by parties from both countries.
