Tai Shan @ BFX - November 15 & 20, 2011

Posted by Jeroen Jacobs | Date: 2012 02 04 | In: CCRCGP Ya'an Base, Smithsonian's National Zoological Park

Two years ago, 2 of the United States’ most famous pandas moved to their parents native country China. Tai Shan & Mei Lan left their birth towns on February 4, 2010 to participate in the giant panda breeding program.

I already shared my pictures of Mei Lan from my visit to Chengdu last November, here are the Tai Shan pictures from Ya’an Bi Feng Xia. (click here for the Mei Lan pictures)

Tai Shan was the first panda cub that I visited, so he will always keep a special place in my heart, like in the heart of many panda fans in Washington DC and around the world.

When I visited the Ya’an Bi Feng Xia Base of CCRCGP on November 15, 2011 Tai Shan only showed his ear to me.

I was extremely happy when volunteer Rosemary Richards and I could see him very close on my second visited to BFX on November 20, 2011.

Go to our Photo Gallery or Flickr page to see a few more pictures of Tai Shan and the other pandas at the Ya’an Bi Feng Xia Base of CCRCGP Leopard Mountain.
