Kobe Oji Zoo’s female panda, Tan Tan, is not pregnant.
The zoo performed artificial insemination on Tan Tan on January 21, 22 & 23.
In early April, an increased urinary hormone suspected the possibility of pregnancy, but the hormone level returned to normal in late April.
The Kobe Oji Zoo has been conducting artificial insemination on giant pandas since 2003. A stillborn cub was born in 2007. In 2008, a cub was born who died after four days.
