Panda Updates from Thailand
The people of Thailand are getting ready to say goodbye to Lin Ping, while she will move to China to seek her mate at the end of next month… Chiang Mai Zoo staff is preparing Lin Ping for her journey and she has acces to her transport cage for travel training.
Prasertsak Buntragulpoontawee, the Head of Panda in Thailand, became Assistance Director of Khonkaen Zoo. We would like to that Prasertsak for his efforts for pandas in Chiang Mai over the past years. He shared his passion for pandas with many of the Thai peole.
Earlier this month, Jérôme Pouille and Melissa Katz visited Chiang Mai Zoo during their Pambassador World Tour. The Winners of the Pambassador 2012 contest are travelling around the world to meet all the pandas. The two Pambassadors had a warmly welcome by Dr. Kannikar Nimtragul and Mr. Anuwong Wongvichein, the head panda keeper. On August 6, 2013 Chuang Chuang celebrated his 13th Birthday.
