Wang Wang & Funi will have to try again next year

Wang Wang and Funi’s first attempt at becoming parents hasn’t been successful.
The giant pandas were introduced last Friday as part of their first annual breeding season and have spent the last few days getting to know each other.
Panda Keeper, Simone Davey says the pair came close to mating, but need a little more practice
“I think Wang Wang is just a little immature at this point. Funi was doing everything she possibly could, was doing everything right but male pandas especially are renowned for being hard to motivate and hard to breed or figure out what they’re meant to be doing.”
