Lucky Panda Fan of the Year: Christie Harper
We received over 28,000 votes on the Giant Panda Zoo Awards and would like to thank all who participated!
As we announced, one ‘lucky panda fan’ would be picked out of the voters and this award was won by Christie Harper.
Christie wrote us a short story about her passion for pandas with some of her panda pictures from 2012:
Thanks for picking me as the Lucky Panda Fan of the Year. I fell in love with pandas when Tai Shan was born and ever since then my passion for pandas has evolved. As a member of Pandas International, FONZ and other organizations that promote conservation I do my best to stay engaged and active.
In 2012, I participated is several local National Zoo events, visited Zoo Atlanta, and the San Diego Zoo/Safari Park. I was fortunate to be able to volunteer with several pandas in China with a return stopover in Tokyo, Japan and a quick visit to Ueno Zoo. I feel blessed to have such cherished encounters with pandas and the people who care and love them.
